Coordinator : Burcu Tezcan-Unal


Burcu Burcu Tezcan-Unal Burcu has taught and trained internationally in various contexts. She supervised Teacher Training Unit at Bilgi University between 2009-2013. Currently, she is based in the UAE, working for Zayed University, Dubai. She was recently co-opted as an interim TTEd Co-ordinator. Her main aim is to create a dynamic TTEd team that can reach TTEd SIG membership and beyond using both traditional and modern media.

Events Officer: Prof. Birsen Tütünis


Birsen Prof. Birsen Tütünis received her PhD from University of Sussex. She has been working in the field of ELT as an English instructor, as a lecturer and as an administrator for years. She has written articles and books on different issues related to our field. Her recent interest lies on Learner Autonomy. She has been the coordinator of Teacher Training and Education Committee (TTEd SIG) of IATEFL since 2011. She has been the key note speaker and given presentations at different international ELT Conferences. She is the Honorary Member of AzETA in Azerbaijan.

Bahar Gun Bahar Gun holds BA, MA and PhD degrees in ELT. She has been working at İzmir University of Economics since 2003. She currently works as the Head of the Teacher Development Unit in the School of Foreign Languages (SFL). She is in charge of in-service teacher training and development programs in the SFL. Her research interests include EFL teacher education in general, and teacher cognition and reflective teaching and learning in particular. She is also a CELTA and ICELT tutor, and an OTA trainer.

Newsletter Editor: Jennifer Book


Jennifer Jennifer Book teaches on Intensive English, the ELT elective, the MA (YLs) in English Language Teaching and the Trinity College London Certificate in TESOL at the University of Sussex. She previously taught in Italy and London, and has been a Trinity moderator and Diploma Examiner for Trinity College London for many years. She is delighted to be working with IATEFL colleagues and honoured to have been appointed Newsletter Editor for the TTEdSIG. She hopes to be able to strengthen the TTEd community by bringing a multitude of voices to the SIG newsletter.

Kalyan Kalyan Chattopadhyay works as Associate Professor in English at Bankim Sardar College, Calcutta University. A University of Leeds and Hornby Trust alumnus, he has widely spoken and published on language skills development and the use of new technologies in language teaching. An IELTS research awardee and Cambridge University Press author, he is the Vice President of AsiaCALL, and the immediate past Coordinator of IATEFL YLTSIG (UK). He trains teachers both at the private and state sectors.

Ozlem Ozlem Zengin has been working at Bilkent University School of English Language for 8 years and holds CELTA and DELTA from Cambridge University. Besides being Pearson-certified master trainer, she has MSc degree on Curriculum and Instruction in Middle East Technical University and is currently a PhD candidate in the same department. She has been giving talks in national and international conferences on 21st century skills of teachers, teacher education, and mobile technologies in instruction.


Webinar Manager: Lucy Pereira



Lucy Lucy Pereira graduated with a joint BA in Music and German from the University of London in 1996. She holds DELTA with Distinction and Cert iBET - with Distinction. Lucy spent 8 years as an Academic Director and Teacher Trainer in London and Cambridge, UK. She also ran the Cambridge Director of Studies Association (CAMDoSA) and set up and managed a new Cambridge Exam Centre. Lucy has been working as an English Teacher and Teacher Trainer at the University of Economics in Izmir since September 2017. She is a CELTA and DELTA tutor.


Treasurer: Adam Bandstra


Adam Adam Bandstra has a BA in English and Post Independence Indian Literature, and an MA in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching from King’s College, London. He also holds the Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching for Adults (DELTA with Distinction) and the Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching Management (DELTM with Merit). He has been an English language teacher, curriculum designer, translator, teacher-trainer, academic manager, business communications trainer, and school principal in the USA, Germany, the United Kingdom and India. Most recently he has been teaching at the İzmir University of Economics in Turkey.
