TTEd Webinar links and other resources

Our members can reach webinar recordings and newsletters by logging onto the main IATEFL website and clicking on the Resources tab followed by the SIG resources tab. We have held webinars with highly renowned names in our field including Anthony Gaughan, Lindsay Clanfield, Gabriel Diaz Maggioli, Marisa Constantinides, Kathleen Graves, and Russell Stannard. We will be organising a new series as of November 2020 with four new speakers in the new academic season.

Save the Date

TTEd SIG has been invited to join the LAMSIG Panel on Teacher Training July 24, @10 BST. So, with a spirit of collaboration, members of our team will be guest speakers talking about the following pertinent issues: Observation of online teachers, The role of trainers in an online INSET workshop festival, Teaching in-service (student) teachers online, Online learning: accountability and quality control and Emerging trends in online teacher education. There will be time for the questions to the panel. For details, please follow our social media links.

Upcoming TTEdSIG Open Forum in September

Our committee has been brainstorming ideas about our annual AGM that should have been conducted in Manchester. We are planning to host an online event and explain what we have been doing since IATEFL 2019, and what we are planning to do next, and ask for your suggestions. We would like to have an interactive session allowing our members and enthusiasts to discuss matters in small groups to improve our practices. Stay tuned for details.

Best Training Practices

TTEdSIG has been collecting some tried and tested practices from like-minded colleagues. You can check out two more entries ‘Team Training’ contributed by Beth Melia-Leigh and Nicholas Northall from the University of Sheffield and ‘Socratic Seminars in Teacher Training’ by Seher Balbay from the Middle Eastern Technical University. You can reach these entries and the others by clicking on this link https://ttedsig.iatefl.org/category/best-practices/

Wouldn’t it be great to share your practices with some trainers who may be working  in a remote town in China, Ghana, Indonesia or Venezuela?

Please continue to send your best practice ideas for teacher training to [email protected]
