Save the Date: TTEdSIG Open Forum

We organized an Open Forum to update our members as well as potential TTEdSIG members. It will take place on October 17, 2020, on Saturday at 2 pm BST. We will start by informing you how to register. Please visit: https://tinyurl.com/TTEdOpenForum

The aims of our meeting is to introduce the TTEdSIG committee members and get to know other TTEdSIG members, to inform them about what the SIG has been doing in the past 18 months and to discuss possibilities for future activities. The Open Forum will have an interactive, caring and sharing kind of a set up.

Looking forward to seeing you there. Please register, the meeting link will be provided.

Committee Members and Role Changes

Currently, we have eight committee members: https://ttedsig.iatefl.org/meet-the-committee-2/ Our former Webinar manager Lucy Periera stepped down in July, and Matt Ellman, who was responsible for publicity, took over the role. Since our coordinator will step down in April, the committee co-opted Bahar Gun, who used to be one of the event coordinators, as joint-coordinator, effective as of November. There will be more changes as we will call for new members to replace our out-going committee members. Stay tuned.

Best Training Practices

TTEdSIG has been collecting some tried and tested practices from like-minded colleagues. You can check out two more entries ‘Team Training’ contributed by Beth Melia-Leigh and Nicholas Northall from the University of Sheffield and ‘Socratic Seminars in Teacher Training’ by Seher Balbay from the Middle Eastern Technical University. You can reach these entries and the others by clicking on this link https://ttedsig.iatefl.org/category/best-practices/

Wouldn’t it be great to share your practices with some trainers who may be working  in a remote town in China, Ghana, Indonesia or Venezuela?

Please continue to send your best practice ideas for teacher training to [email protected]
